About me

Barbara Ries, systemischer Coach, Trainerin, Personalentwicklerin

You are curious and want to get to know me better?

In the following you will get an insight into my most important qualities, values and convictions and find an excerpt of my curriculum vitae. In order to give you a multi-faceted impression of me, I have asked people from my professional and private environment to describe me from their perspective.

How I describe myself

I am...

CALM and

Forst, Trees, Calmness, Adaptation

I always have a positive attitude towards my life. This means I am confident even in difficult situations and do not bury my head in the sand. Because up to now, every bump in my life's path has ultimately led to something beautiful, even if I only became aware of it later. These experiences taught me to trust and enabled me to develop calmness!

I am...

Books, Library, Know-How, Curiousity

Knowledge is my passion and curiosity drives me, because I love to learn new things. It is a pleasure for me to turn knowledge into competence and letting also others benefit from it. Especially the subject areas psychology, sociology and all other areas which focus interpersonal processes attract my interest. In my blog you are welcome to follow my thirst for knowledge.

I am...

Chess, Action, Thinking

Making decisions and taking action goes hand in hand for me. I am deeply convinced that only through action things can be changed. Trying out new things and leaving the own comfort zone are essential for me. Discussions are important and indispensable, but getting entangled in questions does not help. Only those who take action will win! And sometimes exactly this leap in the deep end helps to develop the own personality which in the end influences the environment as well.

How others describe me

Barbara is a...

Lighing Bulb, Lateral Thinking, Idea, Creativity

I don't think that I know any other person where I think to myself so often "Oh, I haven't looked at it from that perspective". And it doesn't matter whether it's about simple or complicated, private or professional issues. This "thinking around the corner" and trying to get something positive out of things enriches every conversation and, in the long run, my life in any case. I value her company above all.

Christian Fischer - long-time and trusted friend

Barbara is...

Handshake, Reliability

When I think of Barbara, many different adjectives come to my mind. She is a good team player and is very people-oriented. She is curious, eager to explore, structured and ambitious! At the same time, she is very reliable as she always keeps her word!

Sylke Kromat - Trainer colleague and friend

Barbara is...

Hammock, Relaxation, Calmness, Peace

What I admire about Barbara is her unexcitedness and her zest for action. She is simply great, both professionally and personally. And if there was a motto for her, it would be "Just do it."

What else is interesting to know about me

Travel, Travelling, Enjoy, Happiness

I love to travel the world together with my husband and to get to know new cultures and their people.

My biggest dream came true end of 2018, when we travelled through Australia for 4 weeks. One year before the devastating forest fires, whose pictures brought tears to my eyes!

I am aware that traveling is a privilege which is not possible for everyone and thus I am very grateful for these great experiences.

Nature and animals

Horses, Nature, Animals

"The greatest happiness on earth is on the back of a horse." Yes, I am a real horse girl. Infected with the "virus" at a very early age, the enthusiasm never left me. Horses are the best teachers for me; through them I have learned what respect, humility and patience means and what is achievable with empathy. To establish a real partnership with your horse, a lot of trust and appreciation is needed.

Music, Relaxation

Without music life is only half as beautiful!

Music has always played a major role in my life. Starting with early musical education, I played classical piano and trumpet for many years and sang in various vocal ensembles. And I finalized my abitur with an advanced music course.

Today music accompanies me mainly in my free time. A little time in between on my piano relaxes me just as much as going on a concert
